Educational Products
The Underlying Concept:
Teaching social studies at a high school level can be challenging for both teacher and student. Students are required to learn and retain broader concepts and content while teachers often struggle with motivating young adults to learn.
The educational products currently being developed here are specifically designed to motivate and educate secondary students through the use of music. Research confirms that people of all ages learn through music in a variety of ways. Music stimulates the brain which encourages the listener to concentrate on auditory input. The stimuli prompted by active listening fosters interactive responses that assist in memory recall.
Children around the world have successfully learned concepts and themes through music. In America, preschool children learn their alphabet and a score of nursery rhymes that can be recited verbatim throughout adulthood. The melody, rhythm, or rhyme offer a mnemonic device that assists young learners to recall and retain information. With the support of new research and past successes, it is no surprise that the use of music is gaining momentum in primary education. Motivational teaching tools of this type are not restrictive by age or learning ability and may be employed successfully in secondary education.
